Ocala boats and trailers belong in the backyard

Inside Ocala city limits, parking a boat or trailer in the front or side of a residential property is a code violation. The backyard rule is only the first check.

Start with the city boundary before moving the trailer.

On a home lot inside Ocala, a boat or trailer cannot be parked in the front or side yard. The city’s common-violations page directs both to the backyard. It points to section 122-1193 of the city code.

That does not make every backyard spot an automatic yes. The lot, access, other city rules, and private association rules can still affect the setup. When the fit is not clear, ask Code Enforcement about the address and the planned storage spot.

Keep the local storage question separate from state paperwork. A valid title, plate, or registration does not settle where the trailer may sit on the property. The Ocala rule also does not cover an address in unincorporated Marion County just because its mailing line says Ocala.

Use the live city page before you pour a pad, change a fence, or build access for storage. Save the code section and the answer tied to the exact address.
