Watching a rocket launch from Titusville's Space View Park
Space View Park puts you on Titusville's downtown waterfront, across the Indian River Lagoon from the launch pads. It is a public park, separate from Kennedy Space Center's ticketed viewing.
For Space View Park, head to 8 Broad Street in downtown Titusville, on the west side of the lagoon. You do not enter Kennedy Space Center to reach it. NASA lists nearby parking, and the city’s park page lists restrooms and picnic shelters. Bring a chair and allow time to find a legal parking space; launch traffic can make a short drive slow.
The water is part of the appeal: you are looking across the lagoon toward the launch sites, rather than standing inside a visitor attraction. The view depends on the launch pad and conditions, so a waterfront location is not a promise of an unobstructed view of every rocket on its pad.
Pick the outing that fits
- A downtown waterfront stop: Space View Park combines the riverfront with spaceflight memorials, including astronaut handprints and mission emblems. There is something to look at while you wait.
- Another Titusville park: NASA also lists Sand Point Park at 101 N. Washington Avenue, with parking and restrooms. Use its public viewing list to compare locations, then check local access for the day.
- A ticketed space-center visit: Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex offers launch viewing for some launches. Tickets and available viewing areas depend on the mission; ordinary admission should not be treated as a reservation for every launch.
Leave room for a changed launch time
For NASA missions, open the launch schedule and the linked mission update. “No earlier than” is a scheduling limit, not a promise that liftoff will happen then. For other missions, use the launch operator’s current update. Recheck before leaving, and follow any local closures or parking directions when you arrive.
